Trust. Pray. Work.

Eat. Pray. Love. Good pieces of advice from a movie.
But what if we feel so burdened, depressed, swamped by problems that we cannot escape from?
I asked God what I needed to do more. I was trying to do my best to cope, but still I felt anxious.
The answer came in a text message the next day.
And God let the words seep through my heart.
Trust. Pray. Work.
...I felt PEACE.

Maraming salamat po!

Jesus was the greatest gift that God gave to Israel, but the people envisioned the Messiah to be their political liberator. Thus, they were blind to Jesus' presence in their midst.

Similarly, I believe that our blessings could already be right in front of us, but we may have something else in our minds so that we cannot see what God gives us.

We must have eyes of faith in order to perceive our blessings. Waking up in the morning, our health, faculties (sight, touch, hearing, smell, taste), running water from the faucet, the very air we breathe... all these are blessings. We have to be sensitive to what our Provider bequeaths us daily :)

Conversations with God

Catechist: Ang Lord, gusto ng (pag)papakumbaba; ayaw Niya ng nagmamataas.

Sa lahat ng mga sinabi ng katekista, ang mga simpleng salitang ito, na matagal na rin nating alam, ang tumatak sa aking puso sa mga pagkakataong iyon. Sagot ng aking puso: Salamat po, Lord. Pag nahihirapan akong magdasal, lalapit na lang ako sa Iyo at sasabihing, "Lord, I cannot pray (properly)."

Pag may nagtanong sa akin, Why should I love God? what shall I tell the soul? Tinanong ko ito sa Diyos recently. Tinanong ko rin kasi ito sa Kanya matagal na. I do not wish to enter into theological discussions, except when asked for (ngek, kaya ko kaya yun). Pero there are doctrines which Christians accept by faith, and open people experience in their lives..

..Dahil nauna Niya tayong inibig ("Because God loved us first" - Ito sa palagay ko ang pinakaimportante =)
..Dahil namatay Siya para sa atin
..Dahil Siya ang Liwanag ng ating kadiliman, ang Buhay ng ating kamatayan
..Dahil and Diyos ay Kabutihan. Kung walang Diyos, walang kabutihan.

No pushing

If you can't get a point, will you push yourself to get it? I did for a while, but later I more clearly saw that a point cannot be forced through argument. Maybe it will come on its own, in due time...
